Makalu Base Camp Trekking

Makalu is the 5th Highest mountain in the world and this is near by the top of the world (Everest). This region is blessed with an incredible diversity of natural beauty and culture. Due to its isolation and lack of tea houses this area still receives few trekkers. Sherpa Rai and Limbus are the main habitants in this area. Walking north of the Arun river to Sedua and Nun, then crossing Barun La(4110m.)into the upper Barun Khola valley for a close look at Makalu(8463m).The second part of the trek is very difficult and almost impossible without previous experience.Spectacular views of snow covered giant Himalayan peaks including Mt. Everest, Makalu, trekking through eye-catching villages, different community with majority of Rai, Limbu and Sherpa, exploring around Arun valley and riversides.

Makalu Base Camp Trekking Itinerary
Day 01:
 Arrival at Tribhuban International Airport and pick up you by our private vehicle and transfer to the Hotel
Day 02:
Full day guided sightseeing around the Kathmandu valley. (B)
Day 03:
Kathmandu to Tumlingtar by plane and trek to Khandbari.Tent camp (B.L.D)
Day 04:
Khandbari to Chichira. Tent camp (B.L.D)
Day 05:
 Chichira to Num. Tent camp (B.L.D)
Day 06:
Num to Seduwa. Tent camp (B.L.D)
Day 07:
 Seduwa to Tashi Gaon. Tent camp (B.L.D)
Day 08:
 Tashi Gaon to Kauma. Tent camp (B.L.D)
Day 09:
 Kauma to Mumbuk. Tent camp (B.L.D)
Day 10:
Mumbuk to Ripock Kharka. Tent camp (B.L.D)
Day 11:
 Ripock Kharka to Shersang. Tent camp (B.L.D)
Day 12:
 Shersang to Makalu Base Camp. Tent camp (B.L.D)
Day 13:
 Makalu base camp Excursion. Tent camp (B.L.D)
Day 14:
 Base Camp to Ripock Kharka. Tent camp (B.L.D)
Day 15:
Ripock Kharka to Mumbuk. Tent camp (B.L.D)
Day 16:
Mumbuk to Kauma. Tent camp (B.L.D)
Day 17:
Kauma to Tashi Gaon. Tent camp (B.L.D)
Day 18:
Tashi Gaon to Num. Tent camp (B.L.D).
Day 19:
Num to Chichira. Tent camp (B.L.D)
Day 20:
Chichira to Khandbari. Tent camp (B.L.D).
Day 21:
Khandbari to Tumlingtar. Tent camp (B.L.D)
Day 22:
Tumlingtar to Kathmandu by fly.(B)
Day 23:
Final departure to the Airport for return home (B)
 
Trip Cost Includes

  • Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) entry permits fee
